Belgian app scene is booming

Apps are on the rise in Belgium, with programs for smartphones and tablets becoming more popular, creating a fast-growing new industry. According to technology federation Agoria, the app scene in Belgium is growing by about 27% annually. According to the latest figures, apps have led to the creation of more than 1000 jobs in 150 companies.

There is a healthy market for apps in Belgium, according to Agoria, as evidenced by the sharp increase in smartphone  and tablet sales over the past year: up 15% and 72% respectively.

The creators of apps now also have a quality label, to show that they are serious companies.
