BBC to host debate in Brussels on the future of Europe

The BBC World Service is holding a debate in Brussels this coming Tuesday on some of the big issues facing Europe today.

The free event takes place at the Royal Library of Belgium from 18.00 on 17 November, and will be recorded for broadcast on World Service radio.

Topics raised will include how Europe should respond to the migration crisis - and the future of the euro and the European project as a whole.

The BBC's Jonathan Dimbleby will chair the debate, the first in a series on the future of Europe, putting questions to a panel of European politicians and thinkers.

The guests on the panel are:

• Frans Timmermans, the First Vice President of European Commission.
• MEP Roberta Metsola, member of the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee and rapporteur for Asylum and Migration.
• Peter Lundgren, Swedish Democrat MEP, former truck driver and Transport Committee Member.
• The best-selling writer, David van Reybrouck, author of Against Elections.
