Apartments above Brussels' Apple Store nearly all sold

07:32 09/11/2015

More than 80% of the apartments above the Apple and Marks & Spencer flagship stores in Brussels' Toison d'Or shopping complex have found a buyer. The opening of a child day care centre and a supermarket in the new complex makes its integration with the neighbourhood complete.

Included in the Toison d'Or project is the addition of 72 apartments designed by Belgium-based architectural firm Jaspers-Eyers & Partners. As construction on the project nears an end, the apartments are selling quickly, writes brusselnieuws.be. More than 80% are already sold.

"It may not be the Champs-Élysées, but the presence of so many luxury shops is attracting a certain clientele that you can't convince to live in the city centre or along the canal," Eric Delgoffe, project manager at Jaspers-Eyers, told brusselnieuws.be. "The buyers are both Belgians and foreigners."

No, it certainly isn't the Champs-Élysées and I personally wouldn't be tempted to take a stroll around the neighbourhood. Or open the windows. Fresh air will be at a premium.

I was thinking pretty much the same.
