More and more young families are leaving Brussels to set up home in the surrounding province of Flemish Brabant, a study by Flemish Brabant province has found. During the past 5 years, 70,000 Brussels residents have moved out of the capital to live in the province. This is double the number of people moving from Flemish Brabant into Brussels. Most of the 70,000 movers are young families with children. In addition, they tend to be in work and be earning a higher than average Brussels income. Almost half of the movers from Brussels to Flemish Brabant are not Belgian by birth.
