18 Belgian university programmes among world's top 50
Eighteen universities and colleges in Belgium offer subjects that are considered among the top 50 in the world in their academic field, according to the recently published QS World University Rankings by Subject.
KU Leuven accounts for the highest number of Belgian entries in the list, with 11 subjects in the top 50. Dentistry scores the highest in seventh place, while the university's Philosophy programme ranks 26th in the list.
The other Belgian institutions with subjects in the top 50 are Ghent University (3), Université Catholique de Louvain (2), Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles (1) and University of Liège (1).
The QS World University Rankings by Subjecty highlights the world’s top universities in a range of popular subject areas, covering 42 subjects in 2016. Published annually since 2011, the rankings are based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.
Last year, Belgium had 12 subjects make the QS World University Rankings.
