In Belgium, they are obligatory between October 1 and April 30th.
The reason for winter tyres is that the are much more flexible than ordinary tyres at less than + 7c, wait until beginning of May.

Winter tires are of little benefit for most Belgian drivers, and hence are a waste of money.
Drive carefully instead.
I'd keep them a bit longer. They're very effective at these temperatures on the wet roads.
