Where do I pay taxes?

Question

If I am resident in Belgium, but get a contract as employee with a firm based in another European country (but performing the work from Belgium still), where do I pay tax? I received two different answers: my union tell me I pay the lower rate of tax in the country where the firm is based while the tax office tell me the firm must pay me a brut salary from which I pay all contributions, social security myself, etc. here in Belgium.

If it is the latter case, how do I calculate how much my new employer would have to pay me, in order to know my monthly net and what I would have to put aside in brut pay per month to cover the tax bill? (Would the tax bill come once a year or how does that work?)The firm I would be working for said I would pay my contributions as am employee in the country where the firm is based and put 'zero' on my Belgian tax return form but this does not seem right... to clarify, I would remain resident in Belgium.

All very confusing, especially considering I have tapped out the only two sort of 'authorities' I know and they both gave differing answers.

This is extremely simple!
As soon you have applied to get a Resident Permit in Belgium, you are required by Belgian laws to declare your worldwide revenues, assets and bank accounts on your annual Belgian tax forms.

As Begian resident, indeed, you profit of all the Belgian infrastructure and services...So it is normal you pay for that!
