Instead of buying a domain name , it is cheaper , and more reliable to register one yourself.
If you buy one are you the only registered owner of the domain name ?

To have an online presence you require a domain (website's name), a hosting company that will host your domain, and then a website which describes your business.

I own several websites so to register a domain, you're looking to spend around 10 euros or maybe less per domain name.

I use namecheap and internetbs.net

Internetbs is the cheapest domain register that is reliable and I've been using them for the last 5 years and never had a problem.

A .com site will run you 7 euros per year.

Then you look for a hosting company, and I use a canadian company that charges 30 dollars a year.

The most expensive part is having your website designed by a professional. That can cost from 100 bucks to the sky is the limit.

After getting some really bad designs, I went ahead and created my own site using a wordpress template.

Obviously, if your site requires fancy stuff like an online appointment function, a database to check against data (think of the immoweb site), and any thing else that might be "fancy," then you're looking to pay a few hundred euros.

But if your site is just a basic site that describes who you are, hours of operation, location, etc, then you can use wordpress and you can create your own site from existing templates.

www.weebly.com will do it all for you, I've used them for years without a problem.

Their drag and drop WYSIWYG website design tool is child's play.

They also have an ecommerce bundle which I'm about to start using after years of a different one through 123 reg.

Wordpress good too.
