Where to buy customised laptop?
On the Belgian web-sites of major PC manufacturers (eg HP, Dell) it is not possible to order a customized laptop - they only sell pre-built models. This is unlike on their US websites, where each specification can be chosen/upgraded.
I really would like to have a backlit keyboard and SSD. Any idea where in Belgium it's possible to get a customised laptop (or to order from the UK, Germany)?
Have you tried the german dell site?
I was looking for a customized laptop last year and indeed, couldn't find anything in Belgium.
My colleage told me about dell's german site but I think the problem I ran into was that I needed a german address and also, they didn't have the specific spec I needed (high resolution 2440).
From what I remember, it gave me more choices than the Belgian site when configuring the laptop. And yea, I had to use google chrome's translate capability to get through the screens.
Eventually I waited for my trip to the USA and ended up getting my laptop that way because the choices in Europe aren't as varied as what you get in the USA.
If you ring Dell, and speak to the sales dept, instead of buying from the website, they'll customize it as much as you want. I have often bought non-standard configuration PC's from Dell.
