Cricket is a sport beloved in the UK and many Commonwealth countries, but it can seem arcane to the uninitiated. Learn how to play the game during a free introductory lesson in the park. For young and old.

The theme of this year’s Brussels Heritage Days is how architects have reinterpreted and revisited the styles of the past. Visit some of the 19th-century buildings in various revivalist styles – including many that are usually closed to the public – or take a guided tour on foot or by bus. Reservations required for some sites. More information in the Halles Saint-Géry visitor centre.
17-18 September, across Brussels; free

Win tickets: Canadian funny man John Hastings and Irish jokester Tom O’Mahony are newcomers to Brussels - and you can catch them at the Black Sheep near Place Flagey on Tuesday night. The former is an introspective storyteller whose highly personal act – which reflects on life with a medical condition – has earned him a following on both sides of the Atlantic. The latter is a former MMA fighter who has played to sold-out audiences in Edinburgh and Dublin. To enter the draw for a pair of tickets to the gig, fill in your details below. We'll pick a winner on Saturday lunchtime.
20 September, 20.00, Black Sheep, Chaussée de Boondael, Ixelles

One of the many festivals that keep Brussels moving and shaking in September, Folklorssimo takes over the Grand-Place this weekend with a battle of the brass bands, a parade of giants on Saturday, a ball, an appropriate costume on Manneken Pis, the Order of the Brussels Moustache, a craft market, a folk village and folk dances and tales vividly performed. This year the guest of honour is Japan.
17 and 18 September, all day, Grand-Place, Brussels

The Comics Museum is celebrating the comic book cover in all its diversity and posing questions about the purposes and different controlling forces that affect the finished image. Is the most important thing that the reader see the cover as a seamlessly integral part of the story? Or should the editor, the art director or most importantly the head of marketing get to mould the final product? Art or commerce? A "participatory exhibition" that wows with its legion of covers that trigger so many memories.

The Korean film industry is one of the most acclaimed, vibrant and varied. This is amply on display during the fourth Korean Film Festival. From a film on the toll on family caused by the demands of kingship during the Joseon period to an animated movie about the travails of a pair of orphans, to the surprising but dark story of an ageing prostitute's attempts at survival, there is most definitely something for everyone.
September 15-23, five venues across Brussels

Belgian filmmaker Jaco Van Dormael and choreographer Michèle Anne De Mey struck gold in 2011 with the international hit Kiss & Cry. The husband-and-wife duo spent the following years touring around the world with the genre-bending live production, featuring dancing hands that became iconic. The much-anticipated follow up, Cold Blood, was one of the highlights of the Mons2015 city of culture programme. While not a sequel in the strictest sense, Cold Blood continues to explore the intersection of live dance and film. The first four dates of this KVS reprise run are performed in Dutch, and the remainder in French.
16-24 September, KVS, Brussels

Come Together is the opening weekend of the autumn cultural seasons at Brussels’ Beursschouwburg and CC Westrand in Dilbeek, featuring short performances, videos, installations, concerts and musical trips between Brussels city centre and the Flemish outskirts.

The Brussels Museums Nocturnes are an annual multi-disciplinary event featuring a wide range of activities during late-night openings in nearly 70 museums across the capital, including guided tours, workshops, demonstrations, meet-and-greets and more.
15 September to 8 December, 17.00-22.00 Thursdays, Brussels

Proud of your power cycling abilities? Or do you enjoy watching others work hard? Either way, the fourth edition of the delivery bike festival will keep you pumping. Part of Brussels Mobility Week, the festival which takes place at the foot of the Marolles-Poelaert lift is meant to be a window on the world of bicycle cargo and other transport. There will be a test area where one can practice slalom, balance, carrying cargo or carrying children. But the big competition of the day will be cycling up the hill loaded down with ever increasing numbers of cases of beer. Available for conversation and demonstration will be various artisans or businesspeople who are involved either as clients or providers in the bicycle cargo world. And of course, there will be a bar and not food trucks (heaven forbid) but food bicycles to take care of your needs.
17 September, 15.00-23.00
