What a disgrace
Question
Been out today to discover that Belgium is still living in the 1970s, with almost everything closed and the whole place brought to a stand still. Pickets, people standing around home made fires at entrances. What a disgrace.
It's not hard to realise why Europe is crawling along, with virtually no growth whilst the rest of the World, the US, India, China, for example are trading their way out of this economic mess. We are being left behind and when we realise it, it will be too late.
Whilst I understand that people can complain, this is not the way to do it. Perhaps we are all too comfy....
Europe is sleep walking into a disaster and no one has the courage to really wrestle and sort it out. Pity. My poor kids....

It is shocking that some people use China, India or even US as an example of perfect growth. Are you forgetting the price the people of these countries pay for this "growth"? Horrible working conditions, miserable pay, no job security... Have a look at life conditions in any of these countries and decide if you prefer to live there or here.
SOPHIAD - I did not say that it was "perfect growth" but they are growing unlike Europe and growth is what Europe needs if this life standard that we have is to continue as it is now and as we have become accustomed to.
Horrible working conditions, miserable pay and no job security is something that will come to Europe if we do not change our ways and mentality - just you wait.
At the moment I prefer to live here. That is why I am here! BUT, let's see where we are in 20 years from now........
What is shocking for me in all of this is the fact that people's replies seem to point towards closed thinking and no change. Bizarre. I have proposed open discussions and the need for dialogue. What is wrong with that?
