Welcome to Belgium: Join the Expat Information Fair on 25 September

11:08 24/07/2019

September means back to school, back to work and, for many expats, welcome to Belgium. It’s a busy time in the capital, but also across the country, as workers and their families arrive for their new posts at international companies, the EU, Nato and other organisations.

That’s why ING bank is organising its third free Expat Information Fair on 25 September - a chance to getting acquainted with groups and associations and hear talks to help you get settled, meet people and learn more about Brussels and Belgium.

The Expat Information Fair is the only English-language event that brings together so many different topics crucial for newcomers to the capital. Workshops include:

- Registration in Belgium and dealing with the administration
- Financial planning as an expat (investments, real estate, pension, estate planning)
- Starting your own business: legal and social aspects, taxation
- How to spend you leisure time: sports, walks and tours, clubs and associations
- Stress prevention and wellbeing for expats

You can help shape the event according to your interests by filling in this short questionnaire and saying what you'd like to learn about. And you can see how the event went in previous years by watching this short video.

And as well as the practical information, let’s not forget about what to do with yourself once all of that is taken care of. The sheer numbers of clubs and associations for expats in Belgium – and especially Brussels – never fails to amaze newcomers. A handful of international clubs, associations, schools and service providers specifically geared to expats will have stalls at the Expat Information Fair.

If you arrive in the early part of the day, you get lunch. Arrive later, and a networking reception awaits at the end of the evening.

Expat Information Fair, 25 September 12.00-20.00, ING Marnix (metro Trône), free but advance registration required
