VOO contract

Question

Anyone had any problems cancelling a VOO contract when leaving Belgium?

MeHa

There should not be any issues if you follow their terms:

http://www.voo.be/en/faq/

5.2. Termination by the Customer

Without prejudice to the application of article 5.3, the Customer may, at all times, terminate the corresponding contract by regis- tered letter, ordinary letter, fax or email addressed to VOO.
VOO shall make every effort to terminate the service in question as quickly as possible in line with the technical constraints and shall send the Customer written confirmation thereof.
5.3 Compensation

5.3.1. Without prejudice to the application of article 5.3.3 in the event of early termination of a subscription contract concluded for a specified period before its term if the length of this con- tract is less than 6 months or before the expiry of a six-month period after the commencement of this contract if its length is equal to or higher than 6 months, VOO may claim a termination compensation from the Customer equivalent to the subscription instalments still due up until the term of this contract if its length is less than 6 months or that are still due until the end of the sixth month following the commencement of this contract if its length is equal to or more than 6 months.
5.3.2. Moreover, in the event of the early termination of a sub- scription contract concluded for a specified period which, at the time it was taken out, was linked to a Terminal Equipment provided for free or at a lower price, VOO may claim compensa- tion from the Customer corresponding to the residual value of the Terminal Equipment on the day of the termination of this contract, as laid out in an Amortization Table of this Terminal Equipment calculated monthly and linearly over the entire contract period. This Amortization Table shall be sent to the Customer at the time of the conclusion of the contract and enclosed with it.
5.3.3. The Customer may however terminate the Contract at all times without notice and without being required to pay, if appli- cable, the termination compensation referred to under article 5.3.1, in the event the Customer moves outside the geographical areas covered by VOO and in the event of the Customer’s death. In these cases, the Customer or his legal successors, shall attach all written proof required to his termination request.
In the event of indexation, the Customer may also terminate the Contract without notice and, if applicable, without being required to pay the compensation referred to under article 5.3.1. However, in these cases, if applicable, the Customer shall still be required to pay the compensation referred to under article 5.3.2.

When VOO first came on the scene back in 2011 I signed up for it, but quickly cancelled because they could not provide a working service. TV and Internet disconnected up to 12 times per day, which is unacceptable since I work out of a home office. I actually did not sign their contract for service because the technician told me not to until they actually got the service working. After numerous attempts and rude customer service calls (by them, not me) they couldn't get it working but they still expected me to pay for the service that could not be delivered. Needless to say I fought them on it and now it is going to legal court soon. VOO is a horrible company, their service is CRAP, and they provide NOTHING better than Belgacom or Proximus. Unless someone from Belgacom has murdered a family member of yours there is no reason not to go with them over VOO. I'd rather do without internet and TV than deal with VOO. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!
