Volunteers sought for Wallonia's big spring clean

A big spring clean-up is planned across Wallonia from 24-26 March, and all local residents have been invited to take part.

The Walloon environment minister, Carlo Di Antonio, has called on the citizens of the region to mobilise for the third edition of the Grand Nettoyage de Printemps.

"Families, youth movements, sports clubs, associations, schools, groups of friends, neighbourhood committees, companies - everyone can participate and clean their street, their neighbourhood, their village, a park, a path or other part of their environment,” said Di Antonio.

"Together, pick up papers, cigarette butts, cans, plastic bags and other waste left and give a glow to our region. To make it a cleaner Wallonia, and more pleasant place to live requires commitment and a responsible behaviour of each person on a daily basis."
