Video: 200 Santas on Harley Davidsons tour Brussels

21:55 17/12/2017

More than 200 Harley Davidson bikers rode the streets of Brussels dressed as Father Christmas on Sunday to raise money for charity.

This is the fifth year running that the ride has been organised and this year's beneficiary was Mistral Gagnant, a Brussels charitable organisation that helps sick children realise their dreams.

The Santas met outside Autoworld on Sunday morning, where a large number of Harley Davidsons are currently on display in an exhibition of American dream cars and bikes.

The ride finished at the Winter Wonders Christmas market in the centre of town, where they handed out sweets and gifts.

As well as supporting a local charity, organisers say the ride aims to "change the 'bad boy' image that some people have of Harley riders".

They, and almost all motorcycle riders, are too loud for urban Brussels! If someone were to ask me, I would be tempted to say they should be banned from residential areas.

They were definitely too loud when we encountered them in the City center and I don't know how scared kids crying would help them change their bad boy image. Maybe they should start working on that exhaust sound...
