Using a credit card in the US

Question

I understand that to a new rule you can no longer use your debit card outside of Europe(very annoying...). I will be going to the US and I guess I have no choice but taking some US dollars with me in advance, but I am wondering will I be able to insert my Master card in an ATM and take out money that way?

You can request your banks to get your debit card activated for use in the US. Go to your bank and just ask them. (I just did it with a telephone call and an email). It then takes a day for the activation to happen. It's easy.

You will be able to use mastercard for cash but it's invariably more expensive.
