Urgent - Mazout
We are in a state of emergency! It is Saturday evening and we ran out of mazout, which we use to heat our house. We have two small kids and are afraid they may get sick in the cold house. I would appreciate any help: Is there any way of getting mazout on a Sunday? (I tried all the big companies and they don't deliver on Sundays). Thanks in advance.
Probably the easiest solution would be to go to any of the household electric stores (you should have quite few in around Nord station open on Sunday) and get just a small electric heater. That should do the trick for one day.
This one says possible Saturday and sometimes Sunday, so no guarantee http://brillenscombustibles.be/fr
In the following search for mazout a la pompe. Perhaps you can fill a can with a few liters http://www.octaplus.be/fr/station/recherche/180/
Or if you go to rue Brabant near the north station ask at some shops, you might get lucky.
Stay warm
I agree with the previous advice upon finding some help.
However I would very much doubt that your children would suffer in the short or long term, unless you have a major dampness problem.
It is not cold in Brussels now, it rarely is.
I grew up without such modern heating and indoor temperatures of 2°C in the winter, apart from the slightly warmer kitchen.
Dress appropriately, wool and layers will see one through well below zero temperatures.
can't help you with mazout but you don't get sick from being cold--unless it is below freezing.
it's too late now, but next time, just pop down to your local petrol station and buy some diesel.
