Unpaid driving fine could result in licence withdrawal
Belgium
11:16 26/02/2013
Under a proposed new law, motorists who don't pay their fines will see them increase by 35%. If the fines are still unpaid, the driver's licence will be revoked for up to 30 days depending on the amount owed. Secretary of state for mobility Melchior Wathelet (pictured) is behind the proposal as he aims to tackle a feeling of immunity among many Belgian drivers. If approved, the law could be implemented as early as this summer.
