Uber launches beer delivery service

11:25 09/01/2017

A beer delivery service has arrived in Brussels courtesy of UberEATS, as reported by L’Echo. The service has been up and running since New Year's Eve.

The American transport giant Uber signed a partnership agreement with mega-brewer AB InBev and night shop chain White Night. The deal allows for the distribution of champagne, wine, soft drinks and snacks.

While for now orders on such products can only be made until midnight, there are plans for the service to run all day and night in the near future.

Regarding the service charge and prices of products, Stéphane Ficaja, chief executive of UberEATS in Brussels, says: “The price was set with the distributor, it is the closest to the normal price possible, with a €2.50 delivery fee.”

UberEATS became popular in Brussels for its convenient meal delivery service, and given its success and recent service expansion the company is now eyeing moves to Antwerp, Ghent and Liege.
