Uber Eats brings supermarket delivery service to Belgium
Uber Eats has partnered with supermarket chain Carrefour to offer a 30-minute grocery delivery service in Belgium.
The service will first launch in Brussels and Liège, starting in September, before being extended to other cities.
Carrefour and Uber Eats have been working together in Paris since April, in the height of the coronavirus shutdown, to get food to people's homes.
"Carrefour Belgium will now benefit from this partnership," the two firms said in a joint statement.
"We will not only test a shopping delivery service in 30 minutes, but also meal solutions."
The service will not be intended for people getting their entire weekly shop. The products on offer will be limited to everyday basic items and there will be a weight and size limit for each order.
