Two new weekly art markets in downtown Brussels

21:00 11/07/2016

Downtown Brussels has two new weekly markets dedicated to arts and crafts, which were inaugurated last weekend.

Every Saturday, art vendors will set up stalls on the Rue de l'Epée in the Marolles neighbourhood for the Loisirs Créatifs market from 10.00-18.00, while the new Brueghel'Art market is held on Place de la Chapelle on the same day from 12.00-18.00.

Brussels councillor for economic affairs, Marion Lemesre, said: "The two new markets aim to forge links between the Sablon and the Place du Jeu de Balle. Their focus on art and creation, and their location, has been given a lot of thought and has the agreement of local residents' groups."

She said she was often approached by residents and associations asking to create new neighbourhood markets.
