Traveling to Brussels in September

Question

My family is coming to Brussels for a Family Reunion.
I am looking for a good Hotel that will not cost a arm and a Leg.
I also will be needing to know about transportation, bus, train, or even renting a car. I need to see what is the best to do.
Please if any one there can help me out that would be great.

Thank you for Colorado

I have heard that this one is nice at a reasonable price, but I have not stayed there personally.

September.

Just be aware that car-free day in Brussels this year is Sunday September 21st, I think.

Public transport runs but please bear this in mind. It catches people out.

Don't know how these prices compare, but you might want to consider it. A 2-star in Woluwe St. Lambert.
Close to several buses, including one that goes to the Midi Station, and two trams 7 and 25 - check out STIB.BE which link up to the METRO system.

If you want to be in the centre, there is the Accor group hotel near Place St. Catherine which I think is also a 2-star.

Hotels at weekends are generally cheaper than during the week.
A lovely hotel, bang in the centre, is the Dominican.

Also very central is the Meridien near Grand Place.

A bit further away from the centre is the Aloft Schuman but it's on plenty of public transport routes and you could walk to the centre in 20mins.

My friends have stayed at the ibis near the midi, not the best area but very easy to access the metro and trains and they said it was comfortable.
Bustling market there on a Sunday great fun to poke about in all the eurpean produce.
Depending where your family live he hotel at Jesus Eik la soret is a clean comfortable place

not mega dear looks over forest busy at front with restaurants but not much noise in the hotel. Sadly not good transport with out a car.
However if you get car hire at the airport it's a twenty mins drive on a motorway to get there with no traffic, so not hard even if you don't know Brussels.
