Train strike called off
Belgium
11:05 25/10/2012
The train strike that was threatened for October 29 and 30 was yesterday called off. The socialist union CGSP-Cheminots took the step after consulting its members and no further strike notice was given. The strike would have been the second of its kind in a month, following October 3’s action. “We want to believe that this decision will help break the deadlock,” a statement from the union read, “and help find solutions to make the Belgian rail system more efficient both for passengers and for rail workers.”
