Traffic around Paris
Sorry if this question is not really about Belgium but am hoping that someone will be able to advise me. I need to travel to Orléans by car. The plan is to leave Hoeilaart around 4:30 pm (on a wednesday) and drive to Orleans. This means that I will drive by Paris around 7:30 pm on the périférique. Can anybody tell me how bad traffic is in that area around that time? I really hope to be able to make it to Orléans by around 9 pm. Thank you for your help!
Sus it out yourself. Check routes at the times you think you'll be passing them over a few days.

According to ViaMichelin, it is a 4½ hour drive without stops, that is a long time to drive without any stop so your time estimate is already optimistic.
IF there are no accidents or incidents, the BP will probably be moving reasonably well by around 19.30 on a Wednesday evening as the 70 km/h speed limit seems to be having a beneficial effect on traffic flow and the Wednesday evening peak is a little quieter than on other weekdays.
So if there are no accidents or incidents anywhere and it doesn't rain, you might make Orléans by 21.00. Otherwise you almost certainly won't. Whatever you do, don't exceed the speed limit, even by a few km/h, there are cameras everywhere, by no means all marked, and the "allowed" margin is much smaller in France than it is in Belgium - and don't forget that the limits drop when it is raining.
... any speeding ticket will arrive within a few days at your address in Belgium ... very efficient system must exist between France and Belgium! Enjoy your trip.
