Tomorrowland ready to expand next year

The famed Tomorrowland music festival is looking to extend to two weekends next year following an application submitted by organisers. So far, the province is considering allowing the expansion, but needs more time to arrive at a decision.

To mark the 10th anniversary of the internationally acclaimed event, organisers want to double their chances of success by spreading the festivities over two weekends. Logistics will be a key fact during the approval process as 180,000 spectators turned out last year. 

Local residents from the municipalities of Rumst and Boom have been invited to a townhall meeting to learn about the plans. The go-ahead will have to come from the residents before a final decision can be made by the provincial council, which could take place as soon as December 18.
