Tomorrowland to go on as planned
The massive dance festival Tomorrowland will be allowed to take place as scheduled this summer in Boom, announced the Antwerp court this morning following summary proceedings. According to the court, the complaints filed by local residents are unfounded. The residents will still be able to appeal against the decision, but only after the two festival weekends.
Several local residents took the organisers of Tomorrowland to court to fight the festival’s extension to two weekends, claiming crowd and noise nuisance. Tomorrowland defended its position by gathering the support of 33 companies that would like to see the festival continue on both weekends. The passage of 180,000 festival-goers last year pumped €70.6 million into the Flemish economy.
