Tomorrowland fans given Facebook bracelet
Tomorrowland, the annual Boom-based electronic music festival, is pioneering a innovative bracelet for fans that will allow them to make Facebook connections with the click of a button. The idea is to skip the often fiddly step of swapping contact details in the midst of a busy festival.
The wristbands – which will be given to all the festival goers - link to Facebook accounts and allow users to make friends simply by pressing a button at the same time when they are near. If the two users press the heart button at the same time, it pairs the bands and sends the respective account details to each wearer.
The band doesn't automatically accept requests, but instead, it sends a summary of all the people the wearers have connected with throughout the day to an email address, so they can accept, or decline, at a later time.
Tomorrowland takes place over the course of two weekends, July 18-20 and 25-27, and includes a three-hour Eric Prydz set.
