Tika is Belgian football’s future star
Tika Musonda, son of celebrated former Zambia midfield maestro Charles Musonda, has been hailed as a star in the making for Belgium, reports the Times of Zambia. Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany believes the Chelsea player will be a great asset for Belgium and says the country is waiting for him to mature and start featuring for the senior national team. Musonda was also praised by Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp, who was asked by the Sun who he thought would be best young talent in 2013. “You probably haven’t heard of him yet but you will. He is a Belgian defender-cum-midfielder who is about to turn 19. And I hear he has got loads of potential. Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany tells me Belgium have very high hopes for this youngster,” he said. Musonda plays for the European champions’ youth team. His Zambian parents decided their three sons should play for Belgium, where Charles Musonda has spent much of his life since moving from Zambian side Mufulira Wanderers to Cercle Brugge in 1986. Tika and his two brothers, Lamisha and Charly Jr, moved from Belgian side Anderlecht last summer.
