Taxation

Question

I was wanting some advice. I am currently contemplating taking a job in the UK whilst keeping my house in Belgium. This would mean travelling backwards and forwards at weekends and additional week time accommodation in the UK, but i was wondering if anyone could advise me on the taxation situation should i decide to do this. Would i solely pay income tax in the UK, or would i also have to pay this in Belgium?

Any advice on this would be very much appreciated

So long as your are registered as living in Belgium, you are taxed in Belgium, including your income earned in the U.K. You may be better off keeping your house as a "holiday home", but "de-registering" at the commune so that you are no longer resident here.

"The Belgian tax code provides also for a refutable assumption that an individual resides in Belgium when he/she is registered in the National Register of individual persons in Belgium. This registration takes place in the commune where the individual resides. Individuals that are Belgian residents are taxed on their worldwide income and gains. Non-residents are only taxed on their Belgian income and gains."
