Tax year

I started working in Africa for a UK company back in May of last year and April this year started my first full tax year.
I realise I have to do a full tax for the tax free ernings which start from the previous May but what about the 90 days in the UK limit per tax year will the time from May of last year to the start of this years tax be 90 days also??
