Tax-On-Web deadline extended

11:32 03/10/2013

Finance minister Koen Geens has announced plans to extend by a fortnight the deadline for filing individual income tax declarations via the Finance Ministry's Internet portal Tax-on-Web, writes Tax News’ Ulrika Lomas. As a result, the Tax-on-Web filing deadline will be extended until October 31, 2013. The original reporting deadline for submitting individual income tax returns online was October 16. Geens explained that the decision to extend the deadline took into account workload problems indicated by accounting professionals, while at the same time responding to the finance administration's request that the deadlines for submitting declarations be spread out. On September 25, the finance ministry announced plans to extend until October 9, 2013, the reporting deadline for corporate tax declarations. The deadline was extended from October 1 due to technical problems with the Biztax application. Biztax may be used for the electronic filing of corporate income tax returns (ISoc), applicable to Belgian companies, as well as for the electronic filing of income tax on legal entities (IPM) statements, applicable to Belgian legal entities other than companies, including non-profit organizations and foundations. Biztax can also be used to file income tax on non-resident company (INR/soc) returns online, applicable to non-resident legal persons.
