Tax on shipping container from US

Question

Hi,
does anyone know what the regulation on paying taxes on shipping a container with personal items from the US are? We have lived here now for over a year, so what kind of paperwork would we have to show to prove that these are our personal belongings?
Thanks in advance!

Here is the page on the Belgian customs site relating to moving to Belgium. However it seems that you may have left it too late. You normally have to move your stuff "duty free" within one year of arriving in Belgium.

Your best bet would probably be to contact a moving / shipping company and ask them.

you are allowed a one-time shipment of personal goods without paying duty or taxes. If you have already shipped stuff over when you first arrived, you will have to pay for second shipment.
