Swastikas painted on Woluwe-Saint-Pierre town hall

20:01 27/11/2019

The mayor of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre has filed a police complaint after swastikas were painted on the side of the town hall and municipal police station.

Council staff discovered the graffiti when they arrived at work on Wednesday morning. The three offending tags were promptly removed by municipal cleaners.

Mayor Benoît Cerexhe said nearby CCTV cameras would be analysed. He has filed a formal legal complaint against persons unknown.

"This type of behaviour is unacceptable," the mayor said on Facebook. "In Woluwe-Saint-Pierre we will not tolerate the slightest reference to one of the darkest pages in history."
