Surplus furniture

Question

hi,

I have some old shabby furniture that I think even the Petit Riens will be interested in, basically a sofa and some armchairs. I want to get rid of them, but I am doubtful the communal depot will accept them - and then there is the logistics of getting the furniture there. I am wondering if I buy some new furniture whether the furniture company will accept to take away my old furniture? Is this possible?

Otherwise, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for all answers

B

I meant of course 'not interested in' :-)

put them on freecycle or online and you might be surprised. The handy folks out there looking for a DIY project maybe...

I've had a shop take away the old sofa and seats in the past, but you'd better ask in advance as policy may vary.

You might consider donating the furniture to the Salvation Army. They have shops on about 5 floors at their site on Bvd. d'Ypres near the canal where they sell on goods at low prices. You can make an appointment, describe the items, and they will come and pick up the stuff. This effort helps raise funds as well as giving work to homeless men who lodge in the hostel there.
