Strong winds forecast across country on Monday night

11:06 25/12/2017

The Royal Meteorological Society (IRM) has put out a yellow warning to all provinces in Belgium, except the coast, for strong winds from Monday night to Tuesday morning, reports RTBF news.

It is predicting a southerly wind reaching 80km/h, occasionally 90km/h. A yellow warning means gusts of wind capable of causing minor damage to homes, such as dislodging roof tiles and damaging chimneys tops.

Otherwise, the unseasonably mild temperatures will continue on Monday. The IRM is forecasting cloudy, generally dry weather for Christmas Day. A zone of rain is expected across the country during Monday night with some snowfall on higher areas of the Ardennes.
