Success continued to follow the Belgian singer this weekend at the 15th annual NRJ Music Awards ceremony in Cannes when he picked up trophies for best Francophone male singer and best French-language song, his megahit single ‘Formidable.’ To date, the song’s video clip on YouTube has been viewed nearly 50 million times.

This has been a career-year for the 28-year-old Brussels’ artist, who has seen his second album ‘Racine Carrée’ sell more than a million copies and his concerts sell out in minutes.

The award event created by the hit station NRJ in 2000, and broadcast by the French TV network TF1, has become a major music industry event with artists from around the world in attendance.

American singer Katy Perry also took home two awards, including best international artist and her song ‘Roar’ was recognized for best international song of the year.
