11:40 16/05/2017

A delegation from the Brussels transport company STIB and mobility minister Pascal Smet are in Montreal, Canada, for the Global Public Transport Summit, where many companies come to present their latest technology, including electric- and self-propelled vehicles, writes Bruzz.

The International Association of Public Transport (UITP) biennial summit this year welcomes 3,000 participants from 80 countries for three days. The sector is booming, as evidenced by the many experts present at the summit to show off the latest technological advances to be integrated into buses, metros, access points, digital signs and payment options.

STIB delegates are at the summit to learn about the different types of technologies that may be introduced in Brussels in the coming years, when the transport company will receive more than €5 billion from the Brussels-Capital Region to invest in new lines, including metros, trams and buses.
