The Rumsteak you bought from Delhaize comes from what is referred to as Blanc Bleu Belge, a very lean beef with little or no fat. It has become a success in many European countries because it is "healthier" than the standard Irish, Scottish or French Charolais meat.
Best as you suggest is to flash fry.
