SNCB unveils new uniform, as blue replaces orange

Belgian rail operator SNCB has unveiled its new uniform for train crew - with dark blue replacing the grey-and-orange you will have seen for the past 10 years.

Between now and the end of the year, 30 train staff are testing out the new clothing to assess its quality, weather resistance and how well it washes.

If all goes to plan, 4,000 SNCB employees will be kitted out with the new uniform in June 2020. The current uniform will be recycled.

The outfit comes in two versions - summer and winter - and was chosen by a jury made up of employees and rail users.
