Should I ask for nationality?

Question

Hello,

I would like to know if you think I should request a Belgian nationality in my case:

- I am cohabitating with a Belgian partner since 10/2010. I was already in Belgium, so the moment the cohabitation started, I got a temporary residency.
- In 03/2011 I got a residency for 5 years. The ID card that allows me to stay 5 years.
- I was coming to Belgium since 01/2008 for business reasons, since I have a free-visa agreement with my country, I could come and stay every time till 90 days without visa, so I was doing it constantly (it just shows that I had ties with Belgium before and spent lot's of time in it, since 2008 already). Everything is legal of course.
-In 04/2012 I've opened a business in Belgium (BVBA), this should answer the requirements from the economical part.

I know that you can ask for nationality after 3 years of official residency only, I think that officially my residency is counted from 10/2010, however since I had relationship with Belgium and stayed here for long since 2008 already, I thought to give it a try and ask for a Belgian nationality already.

Do you think it's worth the try?

P.S. - just discovered that since 1/1/2013 they made it 5 years instead of 3 years, however if you take my business trips since 2008 into consideration it's a bit more than 5 years..

Thanks!

J
