Shipping Luggage prior to flight

Question

Has anyone used any shipping agencies that will ship your luggage prior to your flight? We are moving back to the States and I don't want to pay an extra $300 per bag. Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated.

Not sure about now, but when a friend of mine came from the US to Belgium, he found BA to be the cheapest in terms of carrying about 10 pieces of luggage. But that was 3-4 years ago so not sure about the extra baggage prices today. He told me that after all the research went into comparing various shipping agencies and methods he concluded that paying the extra baggage fee to BA was the most efficient in terms of the convenience having it there with him when he arrived as compared to waiting for the shipment to arrive by ship and then delay at customs etc etc. So I guess the best recommendation would be to analyze your priorities and decide accordingly.
