Seychelles and Namur sign cooperation agreement
The Seychelles and Belgium’s Namur province have signed joint agreement pertaining to future cooperation between both parties, For Immediate Release reports. The cooperation agreement was signed between Seychelles minister for tourism and culture Alain St Ange and the governor of Namur province, Denis Mathen. Signing the agreement, St Ange said the binding document “opens up new avenues of cooperation between Seychelles and Belgium. The province of Namur gained part of its strength from its renowned École Hôtelière [catering college]. It is one area where students and teachers from the Seychelles Tourism Academy stand to benefit through the signing of this cooperation agreement. The joint agreement sets the baseline for future cooperation between Seychelles and Belgium. Both parties will then determine specific areas, and both parties will set the way forward for mutual cooperation between both of our countries.” The two men met a few months ago when the Seychelles minister was on a working visit to Belgium. After his meeting in Namur with Mathen, it was agreed that Belgium would send a delegation to participate in the Carnaval International de Victoria. “This is a clear testimony of the extra mile that Belgium is willing to go to strengthen its working relationship with Seychelles,” Mathen said. St Ange said after the signature of the agreement that “it is important for the Seychelles and Namur province to continue to develop further on the working partnership we have today formally launched.” Mathen said he was convinced “in the fruitful deliberation of the cooperation agreement. The signing of this cooperation agreement is a win-win for the Seychelles and Namur province.”
