Sexual harassment in Brussels
Not a question, but last year I posted an experience about being harassed on the streets in Brussels after work. I wasn't wearing anything provocative- it was a suit as I was on the way home afterwork (not that what I was wearing should be relevant). It was awful and I ended up running up the street with the man chasing me. I managed to safely get into a taxi to take me the rest of my journey.

Anyway, I've just read about a documentary by a Belgian about the sexual harassment she's experienced in Brussels, and I have to say, its pretty representative of the experience that I've had. http://www.mrctv.org/videos/trailer-documentary-sexual-harassment-belgium

What a shame, but there you go.
We personally saw a woman being harassed by two young males of north-african descent on Rue Neuve, going towards the north station. These two guys bumped into this woman, and pretty much blocked her path. I wasn't sure what was going on, but my friend realized what the problem was, and immediately went over to the woman and pretended as if she knew her, and the two guys walked away, since now there were 3 of us.
The saddest part is that two police guys stood about 500 meters away, and they just shrugged their shoulders and ignored what was going on. Sad state of affairs in some parts of Brussels, and everyday a quick trip to the Bxl commune will let you know things are only going to get worse.
