Scrapping a car in Belgium

Question

I bought a car 18 month ago for €1000. I suspect that the head gasket may be failing, the brakes and suspension need replacing / repair and the cost of taxing and insuring the vehicle now don't seem worthwhile. What is the procedure for scrapping the car, I know that I have to return the plates to DIV but is there anything else I need to know?

Try selling it to one of these guys that offers to buy for export. Scrapping will get you peanuts and you might as well get a couple of hundred for it.
