school for my son

Question

Hi we are relocating to Brussels in mid of April and i have a son who is 5 yrs old and he completed his UKG(Upper Kinder Garden) and for his 1st standard. We are from India and i want to know schools which offer English medium and with less fees as my husband's company doesn't give any money for child education. Right now he is at 1000 Brussels and his company office is at Etterbeek. Any house for rent at less cost would also be helpful.
Thank You all

Without stating what you can pay for schooling or housing makes it impossible to advise but for an English school, you pay for what you get. I wouldn't pay less than 15k. Consider local

I would certainly advise that you consider the local schools ... but it will not be easy to get a place for September (or even April) at this stage ... you will need to call many schools to try and get a place. Any of the private English schools are at least 15 000 euros ... except one near place Jourdaun ... which is run by right wing religious freaks ...

it's not that difficult to find local school places, but you do actually have to know where to look. There are several private schools under 15k per year, not just one, but you may not want to consider some of them. Roots and Wings has however a good reputation and is less than 15k but the problem is that it only goes up to about 6 years old.

If he's born in 2008, then he must start first primary in September. If he's born in 2009, then he's into 3rd maternelle/kleuterklass.

Go local. If you're struggling with your rent, then private fees are out of the question, as a year's school fees cost more than a decent 2-bed flat.

Many Indians with children in local schools and they can keep up English with after school activities in English and private formal lessons if you desire at much less cost than private English school
