Royal Army Museum director shown the door

11:50 02/04/2014

Dominique Hanson was replaced yesterday as the head of the Royal Military Museum in Brussels, writes De Standaard. Curator Piet De Gryse made the announcement to the staff of the museum yesterday, bringing an end to the mandate of director Dominique Hanson. "Referring to the note from Minister of Defense Pieter De Crem, as of April 1, 2014, Christine Van Everbroeck and myself will take over management of the museum.”

Hanson was already under fire for poor management and failing to sufficiently value the enormous collection the museum has to offer. The last straw for De Crem came when Hanson chose to hire a private company to set up an exhibition in the museum commemorating World War One.
