Right Hand Drive Cars

Question

Can you purchase Right Hand Drive (RHD) Cars here in Belgium?

1) Maybe when you buy new from a Dealership it is possible to order RHD?

2) Maybe there's a Car Dealer that stocks/ sources RHD cars?

Has anyone any experiences they could share. Much appreciated.

I’m not at all clear why you’d want to try and do this for use in Belgium have you ever driven one on the roads here? When we first came we imported a car we couldn’t sell in the UK was terrifying pulling onto and off of busy roads was so glad when it was sold a while later

Not quite sure why you'd want to, but of course you can. Probably better to try any of the larger car dealers. Expect longer delivery times, as they're going to have to ship one to Belgium specifically for you.

It is probably easier and quicker to buy one in the U.K. and import it here yourself.

Returning to England.

So basically I would like to trade in my LHD car for a RHD.

It's easier to get XXXX euros by trading in it (for an older vehicle), over trying to sell it privately (from experience)

Yes, it's dead easy to buy a right hand drive from a main dealer.

Just as aside, if you do this (and I knew someone years ago who did), if the regulations are still the same, don't move the car over until it's more than 6 months old. Older than that, and it is treated as second-hand for tax purposes, less and it is new - so some VAT might be due. Something to check?

I have tried Peugeot, BMW, Fiat, Suzuki and others and none even considered selling me a r-h drive car. Do you know of any dealer who does?
