residency card
The time has come to hand in my special ID card (sob!) but as I am not moving anywhere I assume I now need to get a residency card from the commune building. Does this involve a trip to the commune building and if so, will I need to make an appointment? Will the fact I have been living in Brussels (WSL) at the same address for the past 8 years speed up the process or is it more complicated? Any help is appreciated.
I am not sure of this special id card , but one thing i know
WSP is welcoming and very heplful and fast. WSL i have mixed reports
I had to appear in person at the commune (WSP).
I did this recently in Zaventem for me and my children. No appointment was necessary and the children didn't have to go with me. I received a document stating that I'd handed in my special ID and took it and my passport to the commune (they also asked if I had a Belgian drivers licence and took a copy of it). It took at least 3 visits as it was like applying for an ID for the very first time, I guess. Again one of the things that might be different in Brussels, though.
No appointment in WSP. I went there two weeks ago and was told I'd be contacted within 15 days (still waiting).
