repost of question on trial period

Question

I suspect that my company is going to let me go. I have been with them less than the six month probation period. I understand that notice is seven days from either employer or employee wishing to terminate during probation.

I would like to know if there are any legal implications or obligations if they let me go during this time? What if I leave them?

And what about professionally, in terms of how it looks on my CV or to explain - better to be let go or better to resign (still in probation period)?

Any other questions I should be asking or addressing?

Thank you very much for any constructive advice or information.

- They have to respect your contract. Usually 1 weeks notice when you are in the trial period.
- If you resign you probably won't be entitled to unemployment benefits.
- How it looks on your CV will depend on why they are letting you go. If you are incompetant, then it's not good.
