Report a crime

Question

Dear xpats,

I just became a victim of a scam, and would like to report these fraudulent activities to the police (and also ensure my safety, as I do not know how far scammers are able to go). However, I feel completely lost on the website of Brussels Police. First of all it says "Police Ixelles Capitale". So there is only police for Ixelles and the center of Brussels? And I do not know whether I should go to "Commissariat" or to which section. Any advice?

J

Walk in to your local police station and do it.

Agree with J above. Find your local police station and go and see them.

Handy Man

You are even allowed to stop a car in the streets and ask them to report the abuse. More than often they will find reasons to avoid to do it on the spot. However it is in their duty. Just insist. Otherwise closest local police office. Does not matter, commissariat, bureau d'arrondissement etc. This is their own internal organisation. Any policeman in service is in position to do it.
